ABOUT US
The Duke’s Theatre Company was founded in 2019 to be a bold force in the UK’s open-air theatre scene. Since then, it has rapidly expanded—now touring across a wide range of indoor and outdoor venues, and producing an increasingly diverse slate of live work.
Mission Statement
We make ambitious, high-quality classical theatre and take it to audiences across the UK—open to all, created by exceptional artists.
In 2021, TDTC launched its inaugural tour with Romeo and Juliet. The company has since scaled year on year: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2022), Twelfth Night (2023), and As You Like It (2024). Winter 2024 marked the start of its Christmas season with a new adaptation of A Christmas Carol.
Touring has grown to include leading venues such as Wilton’s Music Hall, alongside landmark outdoor locations including The Minack, Thorington Theatre, and Berkeley Castle. TDTC now works in partnership with national organisations including CADW, the National Trust, and the University of Leicester, as well as more than 50 venues nationwide, from Bowood House and Gardens to Hever Castle.
In 2025, Macbeth piloted a new indoor autumn tour. In 2026, Romeo and Juliet expands this into a full autumn run (September–November), marking a significant step in the company’s growth.
That same year saw the launch of Duke’s Entertainment Limited, a new commercial arm producing one-night events with major names in UK theatres, and the company’s first move into a London base on Drury Lane in the West End.
